Create My AI starts with the choices available in the builder. Define how your companion looks, how they speak and the kind of fictional situation you want to begin with.
Build a character you can describe clearly
- Choose a visual style and the appearance options offered by the current builder.
- Select compatible traits instead of giving the character several conflicting descriptions.
- Add a few concrete interests and a speaking style, such as concise replies, dry humor or thoughtful questions.
- Set a greeting that establishes the opening situation and gives you something specific to answer.
- Review the character and any displayed access or token conditions, then start a short conversation to test the setup.
Keep appearance and personality separate
Appearance choices shape the visual character. Personality and background help establish the conversation. A long appearance description alone does not explain whether your character is curious, reserved, direct or talkative.
When you adjust a character, test one change before adding another. A clear greeting and a small number of consistent traits are easier to evaluate than a biography filled with incompatible instructions.
Character versions and editing
The V2 creation flow has its own supported options. Not every option from an older character version is necessarily available in a newer builder. Use the options you can actually select rather than an old screenshot as your specification.
A character upgraded from V1 to V2 cannot be downgraded through the documented flow, and new V1 creation is no longer offered. Review a version change before confirming it. Existing characters and new creation choices should not be treated as interchangeable.

How do I create a custom character in Candy AI?
Open Create Character, work through the current appearance and personality choices, and review the setup before confirming. Then test the character with a short conversation.
Can I edit a character after creating it?
Use the editing controls available for that character and version. Some changes or upgrades are not reversible, so check the confirmation rather than assuming every field can be changed back.
Can I switch a V2 character back to V1?
No. The documented V1-to-V2 upgrade cannot be reversed to V1.
Should my persona contain my real personal details?
No sensitive real-world details are needed to establish a fictional role. A user persona describes your role in a conversation; it is not the AI character's own personality description.
