Digital twins and character identities

Some characters use an authorized public identity or likeness. The character can be recognizable while the conversation remains an AI interaction, not a personal message from that individual.

All questions

Who is answering the messages?

An AI character produces the replies. Do not interpret a realistic portrait, recognizable name or familiar voice as proof that the person is reading the conversation or making real-world promises.

Use the character description to understand the profile. The events in a roleplay are fictional even when the visual identity is familiar.

Use a likeness with permission

Creating a custom character does not grant rights to another person's identity. Do not upload or request non-consensual intimate material, deceptive impersonation or unauthorized celebrity imagery.

Report a likeness concern with the relevant character or content reference, a concise explanation and a way to contact you. Do not publicly repost the material you are reporting.

Choose the interaction you want

A conversation, a prepared character pack and an interactive media option have different controls and access requirements. Check the actual action and any token cost instead of assuming that a recognizable character includes every feature.

Questions and answers

Does a digital twin connect me directly to its namesake?

No. Chat replies are produced by the AI character. They are not personal correspondence with the individual whose authorized likeness may be used.

How do I raise a concern about a character likeness?

Contact support with the relevant content reference and a short description of the concern. For a removal request, include enough information to identify the material without circulating it further.
